The Milky Way's Densest Star Cluster: The Arches Cluster

Text Box: 	Applications are invited for a Lab Technician position in the 
Rochester Imaging Detector Laboratory (RIDL), within the Center for Imaging Science at the Rochester Institute of Technology. The RIDL was established last year to develop and advance new innovative detector technologies for astronomy and other fields. The lab pursues these goals by developing new cutting-edge detectors that utilize advanced CMOS readout circuitry (an activity sponsored by NASA). The RIDL is also a development lab for the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST) and Supernovae Acceleration Probe (SNAP).

	The Lab Technician will support the design, fabrication, and testing of imaging detectors in projects carried out by engineers and scientists in the RIDL. The initial appointment will be for two years with possible renewal for a third year. Applicants must have a 
Bachelor's degree in Astronomy, Physics, Astrophysics, or related fields (Master's is a plus) and have experience with software 
programming. Additional mathematical, statistical and computer skills are desirable.
